About PRSA Puget Sound

The Puget Sound chapter of PRSA has served Western Washington for 60 years. We provide networking and professional development for our members while advancing the profession and fostering understanding within the communities we serve.

Public relations professionals in the Puget Sound region have played vital, strategic roles in business, government and education. We have helped launch commercial airliners and computer software, a World’s Fair and the Space Needle. We’ve strategized for major political figures and played critical roles in governments bringing change to the Pacific Northwest.

One of the 10 largest chapters in the country

Chapter membership has grown, too, from just 33 charter members in 1957 to nearly 400 today, making ours one of the 10 largest chapters in the country.

We are one of the busiest chapters in the nation, often with four or five programs or social events every month. We have everything from hour-long monthly programs to half- and full-day training opportunities.

Geographically diverse

The chapter is based in Seattle, but we offer programs all over the region and as far south as Olympia. We have a strong contingent in the Tacoma area called the South Sound group that usually meets once monthly and also puts on socials.

The area’s top senior practitioners and up-and-coming young professionals guide the chapter. The Board of Directors oversees our chapter’s committees and volunteers.

Above all we have fun. We understand how important community is to our profession. Hey, it’s even one of our values.

Our history reminds us that a cohesive, professional community is as important today as it was back then. Learn more about how and why Seattle-area PR professionals chartered the chapter back in 1957 on our history page.

Advancing the profession and the professional in the Puget Sound region.

  • Diversity. We welcome people from diverse backgrounds and embrace the contributions we all make to the chapter and the profession.
