FEATURED SPEAKER AND TOPIC:
“The Role of the Media on the Administration’s Travel Ban – the Attorney General’s View”
Meet Noah Purcell, Washington State’s Solicitor General. In early, 2017, Noah was a pivotal member of the team that built and argued the winning case challenging the constitutionality of and bringing the Trump Administration’s Travel Ban to a halt. Hear about Noah’s views on how media coverage of the travel ban case shaped public opinion and helped the Attorney General’s Office prevail in court.
Noah is a Seattle native who graduated from Franklin High School. He attended the University of Washington, where he received a Mary Gates Leadership Award for his work founding and running Affordable Tuition Now!, a student advocacy group dedicated to keeping tuition at UW and other state universities affordable. After graduating magna cum laude from Harvard Law School, where he served as an editor of the Harvard Law Review, he worked as a law clerk to former U.S. Supreme Court Justice David Souter and U.S. Court of Appeals Judge David Tatel.
